you make my life bloom

today i made a simple card again from sue wilson's designs
it has an embossed background with 3 strips of brown card dissecting it, the central one has a sentiment in white embossing powder then covered in micro beads

3 flowers made from crinkle kraft paper

i am still reeling from the mention of my blog by Sue Wilson on Ideal World tv last night!!

I will be going to Ally Pally Craft show this saturday.
if anyone else will be there say hi!!  i will be one of the very few males there i am anticipating!! lol.

humbled ...

.... by the fact that Sue Wilson mentioned my blog on Ideal World tv this afternoon!!
I am overwhelmed with gratitude and thanks for the lovely facebook messages!! lol!

this is another of Sue's designs that I have tweaked.
I stamped a flourish stamp in snowcap ink onto blue card as a background
i had to resize the layout [as i often do] in order for it to fit on an 8x8 card base.
my ribbon bow is a bit insipid as i didnt have the correct colour and used tumbled glass to colour white seam binding, but i didnt do enough! lol!

i just love the way that Sue manages to use various shapes and motifs to create beautiful designs .... i have trouble doing that.

another sue wilson designed card in my version.

i love the colours of this one
simple background with 3 doily motifs in black and burgundy card
the flower is an inkylicious stamp [hydrangea] stamped in cranberry
the embellishment i made myself using a creative expressions fancy pearl using a mould in a ranger mould n pour mix so now i can make as many as i like! [they are not made in black i dont think]

today, my version of another of sue wilson's designs

the flowers are tim's tattered florals coloured with victorian velvet and the sentiment is a stamp from inkylicious

i edged the 8 x 8 base card with pumice and spun sugar to soften the whiteness  as the rest of the card is ivory/cream card with black.

wonderful ... special

2 more cards using the brilliant ideas of sue wilson

my spellbinders addiction has me well hooked now
i have spent wayyy too much recently buying the latest releases!!

the top card has a patterned paper background that i extra m-bossed and used some clear perfect medium to pick out the raised embossing then dusted some perfect gold powder on it.
i have some matt gold card that i used for the focal piece and the edging
i made the button using a mould and some embossing powder .... just versamarked the mould then added a coat of gold embossing powder and when still hot added a little more then another layer etc until it was filled!  first time i tried it and it worked really well.

the lower card is very simple but stylish i think.

the lattice background has black cosmic shimmer glue dotted at every 'junction' ... the effect is incredibly tactile!

2 more spellbinders

2 more cards in my recent spellbinders designs
the top card is sand and black cardstock, simply using the extendable background.
the sentiment is covered in micro beads.
the lower card has a background using ornamental ironworks m-bossabilities on spellbinders metal foil sheet, sanded back which looks amazing on kraft card.
the dots on both cards is using cosmic shimmer pearl glue, black and bronze.
again ribbon and embellies from sam poole with tim holtz flourishes, button, and small flowers using tattered pinecone.

spellbinders

starting with an apology that i have not blogged recently, nor have i taken part in the design team challenges for the Stamp Man recently.  i have just been in a bit of a personal situation recently and had no inclination towards being inky and crafty.

however i have recently discovered a new passion --- Spellbinders!!
watching the amazing Sue Wilson [see her blog HERE] recently on Create and Craft i was just blown away at the totally beautiful cards she makes using spellbinders, and she said that it was possible for anyone to produce them using these dies and embossing folders.  so i decided to get the overdraft utilised and bought myself some of the latest releases which are quite stunning.   and now im hooked!

these 2 cards are incredibly easy to make using the new extendable backgrounds and the new flower die along with various other pieces.
i have been using black, grey and cream a lot for these cards.
lots of my embellishments, sentiment stamps and goodies are from sam poole's Creative Studios - another recent addiction.  check out what she has in her store HERE.

a complete change in my usual style but it works for me at the moment as i am in a bit of a sombre head space.

more to come

thanks for looking x
