special day
Sue Wilson had recently released some more exquisite dies to her range.
In her original design she describes this card as being front opening with a band around it.
I have made my own version with the entire design on the front using divided die cuts and base card.
The sentiment is on a strip across the front, slightly bowed so its not flat.
I added embossed detail using spellbinders grand squares, and some extra layering.

An elegant Sue Wilson design in lilac and white
Using Sue's decorative corner die to create the central element by adding 4 back-to-back, and more in each corner over the wonderful pinpoint embossing folder

special day
this IS a special day!!
this is my first card showing Sue Wilson's new die releases - the new Gemini dies.
They are really clever and unique in that the outer 'edge' is split into two dies so that the shape can be cut out totally, or either edge.
here it is used using alternate sides of the same die.
In Sue's original design she used some stunning ribbon with a two-tone effect. I used some silky crush ribbon spliced lengthways and ran a dark green alcohol pen along the edges of it.
I've been a bit absent from blogging -- I overdid the Xmas cards and got a bit fed up with it so I have had a little break!
Sue's new dies are absolutely stunning!! I have ordered a few already and hopefully I will complete my [slightly obsessive] collection soon!

joy to the world
a simple design from Sue Wilson in silver and blue.
A couture creations embossing folder highlighted with some pewter distress stain, and a justrite sentiment

wishing you joy
this design by Sue Wilson could be used for any occasion but the sentiment I used is a justrite Christmas stamp
The charity shop I donate to told me today that I have raised well over £1000 [plus gift aid] for my donated cards, so far.
A great deal of that is due to Sue Wilson's beautiful designs!
Thanks Sue!!!

angel and gilding flakes
a Sue Wilson design using her Christmas dies and embossing folder with a simple background of gilding flakes.
No sentiment needed.

noel
pure Sue Wilson here!!
This die is so Christmassy!!
A touch of sparkle and holly really add to the design.
And those pva glue dots!! The OCD in me forced me to again measure with my piercing ruler!! There is no way I could space them evenly without a bit more practice!

christmas wishes
Sue Wilson angel die with one of her background dies behind it
I really like this design of hers - it may not be 'traditional' but it is quite striking!

joy and gladness
A lovely glittery design by Sue Wilson.
a mix of spellbinders, justrite stamp and dies, and Sue's line of dies on this card, of which I made 2 with differing sentiments

poinsettia frame
This is one of my very favourite Sue Wilson designs.
I might use this design for my own Christmas cards - if I find the time to make them!
Bold and dramatic.
The sentiment is a justrite set that I had difficulty finding and eventually got it on ebay from USA!!

I made two of these as I liked them so much!

This is one of Sue Wilson's delightful 'high-low' techniques
using gilding flakes and black iced snow glitter for a dramatic effect
I am not afraid of black!!

just because
a sue Wilson design using her new dies
I love making this type of card -- it looks really complicated but is very easy.
I'm still practising the pva glue dots and have found that measuring and marking every third hole from a piercing ruler gives an easier way of spacing them evenly.

let it snow
a lovely pale blue and white Christmas design from sue Wilson
it took me a couple of attempts to get this one made!! I kept making mistakes!
I used cosmic shimmer sparkle pva as centres to the snowflakes

sue Wilson showed us this card on one of her recent tv appearances.
I really like this one - one of my favourites of the festive designs!
I made 2 other cards in the same design using dark blue on one and burgundy on the other

best wishes
sometimes simplicity is very effective
an embossed background and sue's bow, stamped and covered in micro beads
in my version of sue Wilson's design I have used a stamp I recently got from 'clevercut' which is one of 3 sentiments with a 'hand-written' feel to them

and a happy new year
I love this technique on this sue Wilson design
using 'letterpress' on the embossing folder [couture creations] on both the negative and positive side.
I used the creative expressions sparkle mica in gold and I actually used the copper on the gold card to give a stronger contrast and it still came out as a gold shade.
the stamps are justrite

believe in the magic
this card I adapted from a layout on heartfelt creations website
I beefed it up quite a lot with lots of layers and a good amount of glitter. I used stampendous frantage green glitter which is quite chunky and left some 'gaps' which I filled in by finishing with some cosmic shimmer green silk glitter which is superfine and filled in any spaces and gave another green tone.
the sentiment is heartfelt creations from last xmas.
I used sue Wilson's new poinsettia die and stamp and her holly sprigs

enjoy your day
sue Wilson's original design used a more blue card; mine is nearer teal coloured but it matches the colouring of the flowers.
I used spectrum noir markers to colour the stamped image, then used my new silhouette portrait machine to cut around the image. I hand cut a second stamping of the flower heads and layered them on top for dimension.
the background is one of new new favourite stamps - the justrite iron swirls embossed in white on white card.

simply fabulous
aqua and white card for this sue Wilson design
I just got the new petals dies by sue and love the way they layer on top of each other. lots of possibilities with these.

sweet dreams
a lovely sue Wilson design showing how to cut the frame die to shorten it
I added some extra bling with a wink of stellar pen over the stamped butterfly image
my silhouette cameo machine has arrived and I have been playing with it!! it will take time to master it but it is great fun!

let it snow
another gorgeous sue Wilson xmas design
I kinda made up my own 'technique' to do this as sue hasn't blogged it yet - just a photo.
I cut the snow die and stuck it onto a piece of double sided adhesive sheet then covered the rest of the sheet with iced snow glitter.

I coloured the flower stamp with my spectrum noir pens

noel
this is a striking design from sue Wilson
using her new Christmas dies including the poinsettia
the background I made using a score board
one of my favourite cards recently
I have already made several Christmas cards and will post them soon.

heartfelt thanks
another card from the justrite website.
I made my own background with a justrite stamp and ranger 'cement' embossing powder, then coloured it with bundled sage ink and edged it with tea dye, and a random stamp of an old script stamp I have.
I used the new justrite dies vintage flourish one and vintage labels nine
Monday, 1 September 2014
heartfelt thanks
this is one of sue wilsons more recent designs
I used black and aqua coloured card
I love this justrite background stamp; stamping and embossing with white powder onto black card.
I am not very good at the pva dots technique but gave it a go on this one on the black border. I tried using my piercing ruler to measure the spacing. I made a small pinprick every fourth hole and used that to apply my black pva glue to. I need more practice but it was acceptable!

just because
this is my take on a design on the justrite website
I coloured the image with my spectrum noir markers. i'm especially pleased with the blended shading of the blue background.
I used a piece of heartfelt creations paper under the spellbinders cut out, and a spellbinders flower die as embellishment

special day
i've been wanting to reproduce this design from sue Wilson for a while now and finally got round to it!
it is a real stunner I think.
the only die cutting is the leafy embellishment, the rest is stamped from justrite stamps
I did use a circle die for the sentiment but just used a rotary cutter for the large gold circle as I don't have a die that size
Tuesday, 26 August 2014
thanks so much
sue Wilson showed how to make this card in a recent video
it is one of her new striplet dies.
its been too long since I used gilding flakes!
Monday, 25 August 2014
thank you so much
my version of a sue Wilson design
I hope to get more use of out of this justrite background stamp because I really like it!

wishing you ...
still on the early Christmas theme
I really like this sue Wilson design
I stamped a couple of the wreaths and coloured them with spectrum noir. I snipped one of them apart to add some layers to the main wreath.
ive just managed to get hold of this spellbinders frame die [once upon a stamp.co.uk] and glad I did -- it is lovely and will be very useful.

ok -- I know its a long time until Christmas but I have started to make cards now so that I have a good supply ready this year!
and there are so many beautiful new products and designs out already!
this is one of sue wilsons designs using justrite stamps and her bow die.

happy birthday
ok for a change this is NOT one of sue's cards lol!
I found this layout on the justrite website showcasing the new vintage flourish one and vintage lables nine dies and the lovely ironworks / labels eight stamp
I coloured the stamp with spectrum noir markers and added dots of cosmic shimmer cristal sparkle pva. a matted layer of sues embossing folder finished it off nicely.
Sunday, 17 August 2014
thanks
sue Wilson published this design a little while ago
ginger and sky blue card!
I used sue's new embossing folder on the lower half of the card
this is also to say 'thank you' to everyone for my birthday wishes today! xx

best wishes
a frilly card from the house of sue Wilson today!
something about this swirly frock appealed to me so I had to reproduce it!!
I added some extra bling to the dress with a stella glitter pen but its not very obvious so I might overdo it later!

lavender roses
this sue Wilson design is made using her background die in white with a second lavender coloured cut out offset behind it.
it is raised above a layer of iced snow sparkle
I made a spellbinders bloom in the same lavender card and edged it with some lilac glitter
no sentiment on this one
