Hopefully it will work!!

A very happy new year to everyone.

Thursday 29 November 2012

what you do today ....

my last scheduled post for now

when i get home i will be making some more cards ..... as sue wilson publishes one every day, i still have quite a few to catch up with!!

this is made as per sue's instructions using the heartfelt creations die.
i was a bit lacking in sentiments that fit the space!
i could never have seen this layout just by looking at the die!!
sue's eye is just spectacular.

i shall probably make more of these in different colours, as the card is coloured using distress inks not pre-coloured card.

Wednesday 28 November 2012

tree of presents

well i hope this schedule thing is working!!

this card is sue wilsons design using scraps of gold and black card using the spellbinders frosty forms dies

Tuesday 27 November 2012

merry christmas

this simple sue wilson design is made using the justrite background stamp in 3 layers, colouring each layer with distress inks, leaving the top white.

a spellbinders poinsettia finishes it off beautifully.

i made 4 of these as they were very simple to make.

Monday 26 November 2012

be merry

i have a few more cards to publish this week from my last big donation bundle to the sussex beacon charity

this elegant gold and black card is another of the amazeballs sue wilsons designs.

i love this one a lot!!

i will try to schedule a couple more posts for this week as i am going to be away for a week myself in the sussex beacon for a little rest, and not sure of internet connections there.

see you all soon xx

joy and wonder

two cards using the same backgrounds, both cut in half and used in reverse

again these are by sue wilson, using tim holtz dry stickles rock candy glitter which i really love.

golden xmas tree

this simple but stunning sue wilson design is a perfect xmas card, imo

i made several of these!!
i delivered almost 45 cards to the charity today and they are being sold at the charity gala event on 24th november and hopefully will raise up to £7 each for them!!   result!!!

Tuesday 20 November 2012

thank you

....catching up with posting my makes....

a lovely, simple sue wilson design

the frame is something different in technique ... colouring a piece of card before die cutting, with various distress inks then stamping and clear embossing.  a darker ink over the top highlights the stamped image [justrite flourish background stamp]
a nice greeny-bluey-teal finish!

i have another 45 cards to deliver to my charity!
[less 1 i just gave to my doctor to say thankyou!]

Monday 19 November 2012

all the best

my version of a sue wilson layout again
i dont have the dies she used but i like my version too!

the lattice background is a rarity now available at sam poole's shop!

the flowers are covered in micro beads -- something i wouldnt have thought of but looks stunning!!

Tuesday 30 October 2012

special day

a card in milk and sand coloured card with kraft paper flowers
orginal design again by sue wilson

i love how this style of card looks very intricate but is in fact very easy to construct.

Monday 29 October 2012

feliz cumpleanos

a spanish friend of mine just had a special birthday and i was asked to make 2 cards for her for 2 different people!
using the techniques and 'skills' i have recently learned from sue wilson's cards i made these 2 cards

the top card is all black and ivory.  the sentiment is computer generated.

the lower card is milk card and vellum with silver embossing on a justrite stamp

Saturday 20 October 2012

you make my day brighter

2 more almost identical offerings using sue wilson's original as my inspiration.

i found it difficult to find a] a nice soft peach coloured card and b] some nice soft peach ribbon to match, so these have become a little brighter than expected lol.
but hey they are a bit cute eh?

i'm doing multiples of each card now so that i can give more to the charity.

i will be doing even more when i can as i have been told i might have to go into the Sussex Beacon myself soon for a little break .... not been at my best recently!
so i'll have more payback to do!! lol!
we'll see

Tuesday 16 October 2012

with love

one more for charity using Sue Wilson's design as inspiration

the 'glow' on the central motif is reflection off the gorgeous micro beads that are covering the piece.

i need to get cracking on christmas cards soon!!

Sunday 14 October 2012

just because

this is my take on another sue wilson design
it is on an 8 x 8 card base using black, taupe and teal card and ribbon.
i produced 2 of these to add to my charity stash!

Tuesday 9 October 2012

all things wonderful

for this design i mbossed a brown coloured card for the base
on a sentiment surrounded by decorative labels eight die, cutting a frame and embossing the main part with other sizes of dies.
my tattered floral is made from krinkly kraft paper edged with black dabber and spritzed with bronze perfect pearl
i added a flourish and butterfly covered in gold embossing powder and mounted the piece onto kraft card.

visit sue wilson's blog to see her original

Monday 8 October 2012

thinking of you

here are 2 similar cards from SUE WILSON's blog

they were quite simple to make so i did 2 at the same time [increase charity sales!]
[i just noticed some black pearls are missing on both cards -- i'll sort that out!]

i have quite a collection of the latest spellbinders dies now so i can reproduce lots of cards!

again thanks to my goddess sue for allowing us to reproduce her beautiful designs!  i still have loads more to make!

Sunday 7 October 2012

just because

another card i made recently using sue wilson's original as inspiration

Saturday 6 October 2012

sorry for absence

hi everyone
sorry i have not blogged recently .... the real world has its grip on me sometimes!

since my last blog i have visited ally pally craft show and had a brilliant day!!
meeting sam poole and julia watts and the gorgeous hels sheridan was fabulous, but my excitement knew no bounds when i got to meet my idol SUE WILSON!!!
she is even nicer and sweeter in real life!!
she was so complimentary about my cards!! thank you sue.  for everything.

so following on i came back re-energised and determined to make more cards for my charity THE SUSSEX BEACON.
this week i managed to deliver almost 50 cards to them to sell, and they were particularly delighted with my 'sue wilson designs'
so now my shelves are bare and i need to restock!!  so i have made a few more cards this week after a little break.
here are 2 cards of the same design from SUE which she recently made on create and craft.  i used my gilding flakes instead of gold leaf.  they are both 6inch square, so slightly smaller than usual.  i left the flower embellishment off one of them for variation.
these are among my most favourite so far - i love these colours and gilding flakes, and the majestic squares spellbinders die is just beautiful!!

Thursday 20 September 2012

you make my life bloom

today i made a simple card again from sue wilson's designs
it has an embossed background with 3 strips of brown card dissecting it, the central one has a sentiment in white embossing powder then covered in micro beads

3 flowers made from crinkle kraft paper

i am still reeling from the mention of my blog by Sue Wilson on Ideal World tv last night!!

I will be going to Ally Pally Craft show this saturday.
if anyone else will be there say hi!!  i will be one of the very few males there i am anticipating!! lol.

Wednesday 19 September 2012

humbled ...

.... by the fact that Sue Wilson mentioned my blog on Ideal World tv this afternoon!!
I am overwhelmed with gratitude and thanks for the lovely facebook messages!! lol!

this is another of Sue's designs that I have tweaked.
I stamped a flourish stamp in snowcap ink onto blue card as a background
i had to resize the layout [as i often do] in order for it to fit on an 8x8 card base.
my ribbon bow is a bit insipid as i didnt have the correct colour and used tumbled glass to colour white seam binding, but i didnt do enough! lol!

i just love the way that Sue manages to use various shapes and motifs to create beautiful designs .... i have trouble doing that.

Monday 17 September 2012

special day card

again inspired by the crafting goddess that is sue wilson!

A simple card using kraft black and red card.
asian mbossabilty on the red section.
the branch and flowers are from tim holtz bird and branch and strip dies.

Sunday 16 September 2012

thanks

another sue wilson designed card in my version.

i love the colours of this one
simple background with 3 doily motifs in black and burgundy card
the flower is an inkylicious stamp [hydrangea] stamped in cranberry
the embellishment i made myself using a creative expressions fancy pearl using a mould in a ranger mould n pour mix so now i can make as many as i like! [they are not made in black i dont think]

Saturday 15 September 2012

today, my version of another of sue wilson's designs

the flowers are tim's tattered florals coloured with victorian velvet and the sentiment is a stamp from inkylicious

i edged the 8 x 8 base card with pumice and spun sugar to soften the whiteness  as the rest of the card is ivory/cream card with black.

Friday 14 September 2012

wonderful ... special

2 more cards using the brilliant ideas of sue wilson

my spellbinders addiction has me well hooked now
i have spent wayyy too much recently buying the latest releases!!

the top card has a patterned paper background that i extra m-bossed and used some clear perfect medium to pick out the raised embossing then dusted some perfect gold powder on it.
i have some matt gold card that i used for the focal piece and the edging
i made the button using a mould and some embossing powder .... just versamarked the mould then added a coat of gold embossing powder and when still hot added a little more then another layer etc until it was filled!  first time i tried it and it worked really well.

the lower card is very simple but stylish i think.

the lattice background has black cosmic shimmer glue dotted at every 'junction' ... the effect is incredibly tactile!

Thursday 13 September 2012

for you ... just because

2 more recent spellbinders cards
inspired by sue wilson
the 'pink' card has a background i stamped in rose madder archival with an inkylicious stamp because i had no suitable pink patterned paper
boys can do pink too!
mounted on an 8x8 card
the 'red' card  has an mbossability background highlighted with pumice stone
a few spellbinders die cuts, a red ribbon bow, tim acoutrement button .... bish bash bosh card done.
ribbons and cosmic shimmer pearl glues from creative studios

Monday 10 September 2012

2 more spellbinders

2 more cards in my recent spellbinders designs
the top card is sand and black cardstock, simply using the extendable background.
the sentiment is covered in micro beads.
the lower card has a background using ornamental ironworks m-bossabilities on spellbinders metal foil sheet, sanded back which looks amazing on kraft card.
the dots on both cards is using cosmic shimmer pearl glue, black and bronze.
again ribbon and embellies from sam poole with tim holtz flourishes, button, and small flowers using tattered pinecone.
