My papercraft and card making projects

pack of cards

this is a project i have had in my head for a while

it is about 3 foot long.

one of my neighbours is a card shop called PACK OF CARDS and the owner very kindly takes some of my cards to sell, so as a thank you i have made her this.

the background is done as in tim's day 12 xmas tag with music and word tissue.  i covered the surface with biscotti pearl spray.  i had to support the back with some wooden battens as it is quite heavy!!

the words are SCRABBLE DASH playing cards [ebay]

on the left is a selection of metal flowers using a technique from tammy tutterow HERE.   i had a great time making these from tattered florals cut from foil sheet.  i love the new ranger enamelling powder.  i added a couple of butterflies cut from patterned card from my stash, and an ideaology ornate plate has the owner's initials covered in glossy accents.

on the right is a selection of gadget gears in various metallic effects, both paint and embossing powder [e.g. verdigris - another fave!] plus idealogy cogs, and some fab laser-cut cogs i found on ebay!    i added 2 moths from paperartsy and the owner's husband's initials in a paperartsy 35mm slide .

ideally i would have liked to mount and frame this but the cost was too much!!

i think it is dry now so i'm about to give it to them.

i hope you like it.  tony x

  4. It turned out gorgeous! Love the idea of cutting the flowers from foil with the Tattered Florals Die.

  5. Brilliant. Love all the collaged elements. They go together seamlessly. The white and pearl colours of the cards and background are a gorgeous vintage touch too. Px

  6. I love this lots! The building of layers is very effective! I would love to own one so I am sure your neighbour is thrilled!
You left a comment on my blog about PanPastels and I can't find your email so I'm hijacking my comment! They are indeed fabulous! They're completely different to Portfolios and I am not sure which I prefer - 'neat' Portfolios give a strong colour (like a wax crayon effect)and PanPastels are much softer - more like eye shadow! But you can do cool tricks with both (like blending etc) - I'm just getting to grips with Portfolios and I suspect I might prefer the Portfolios but the jury's still out! Let me know if you get any PanPastels and what you think of them... would be interested in your thoughts. The website has great ideas on so you're go to go straight away! 7. great idea to do the "Tammy Tutterow" emblossing technique on flowers...I love it on metal, but until now hadn't considered doing essentially the same thing on, say, grunge board...thanks!
