2 quick cards

i made a couple of cards using techniques from tim's online class
embossing with reverse print stamps and distress inking
i used the 'flick' technique on the card on the right but used perfect pearl spray instead of plain water [also i crackle painted the ticket but its not dry yet hence 'shine']

i was photographed by our local newspaper handing over a batch of cards to my charity's shop yesterday to help them in their campaign to improve our poor postal service here in brighton .... i buy a lot of my supplies for my crafting online - as a lot of us do - and have had dreadful problems with delays etc [up to 3 weeks!!]
i hope that it might help with sales!!!

cc101 day 7

3 more samples using the techniques from tim's creative chemistry 101

i'm jumping around a little not doing them in order

[gorgeous technique using rock candy crackle]

the missing days are still in production!  and of course i am making a few extra of most samples to use as cards.

cc101 weekend update

i've spent a lovely inky evening making a custom stamp as in tim's online class [day 4]
because it enables you to stamp as many images as you like i made 4 extra pieces which i mounted and made into cards [for my charity].
i added a mini butterfly die cut on the inside of each card

cc101 days 1 -5

i joined up late in the week for tim's chreative chemistry 101 online classes
but i am so glad i did!!  such fun!

the first picture is samples 1 - 3 for day 2

this picture is only 2 of the 3 projects for day 3 ... i am waiting for delivery of supplies!! [dont let me start on that one .... i have undelivered packages from 8th march sitting in brighton sorting office as they have had staff problems and been unable to deliver!!!  frickin shocking is all i can say!!]

day 4 and i am behind with my homework!!  hope to complete more this evening!

day 5 also has 2 more samples to be made

dream

today some of my new stamps arrived
this is one of tim's older collection but i've always wanted it!  'winged things 2'

i coloured the flying boy stamp with distress markers and stamped it onto the new ranger stamping card.
i cut him out and stuck him to a pocket envelope, added the word 'dream' to an offcut of card covered in music tissue with layers of paperartsy paint pesto, snowflake and metallic glaze.  the word was stamped in vermillion archival embossed with rose quartz enamel powder.

inside the envelope needed a little 'gift' so have put a paperartsy metal flower in it!
the base card is stamped with woodgrain stamp using the technique on tims tag for march.

12 tags 2012 march

i have been very neglectful with my blog recently ...
i am so sorry but things have been busy recently!

i actually finished this march tag a while ago but just got round to photographing it!!
as with most of tim's tag tutorials i like to try and replicate it as near to the original as possible!  i love the cement embossing powder!!
simple but stylish

here is another card i finished off this afternoon using the large 'face' die from tim
[i bought it as a wood mounted stamp].  i coloured this one using portfolio pastels and a water brush. it is stamped on manila card.
the background is a sample from tim's compendium 2 book using the enameled stamping technique [page 44]
i dont like wasting anything -- even sample/test pieces so i used them in these cards!

and this one has the new bubble embossing folder background. the face is stamped onto watercolour card.  both these cards will be given to my charity as usual.  i need to get making more cards for them!!

believe it or not i have not yet used my distress markers on any project yet, except a try-out on a ticket stamp which came out really nicely, but i gave it to someone special before i photographed it!  but they are blimmin fabaroonilicious!!

i'm waiting on a few new purchases to be delivered which i hope will get me creative again!

thanks for looking!!

mothers day

i spent some time this weekend making a couple of mothers day cards for some friends

the first has flowers cut from pepsi cans [!!] using the embossing powder technique i learned from tammy tutterow's blogs.  i love making these flowers!!  i made them a couple of weeks back and have kept them for a card like this.
the ornate plate is tinted with juniper and copper dabbers, and 'mum' cut from the typeset strip die, covered in sepia glossy accents.

the background is mount board cut from the valise die coloured with dusty concord and milled lavender, then the large background stamp from the papillon set embossed in white.  i then ran the piece through a script embossing folder. [cuttlebug]
it is then matted onto some decorative card i have in stash.

here is a close up of the flowers

the second card is almost the same but the flowers are made from tim's brand new mini tattered floral strip die!!
the background is coloured with tumbled glass and broken china.
i cut the flowers from whitewash coredinations, and coloured with various distress pads.
